Day 1

DAY 1: (ARRIVAL) AUCKLAND

On arrival you will be met and privately transferred to your accommodation. Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city, set between two harbours with gentle sandy shores on the east coast and black sand, wild surf beaches on the west coast. Home to sheltered, sparkling blue waters dotted with beautiful emerald islands, we recommend getting out on the water when you are here. Overnight: Auckland.

Day 2

DAY 2: AUCKLAND – ROTORUA

Today’s privately guided tour takes you through lush farmland, to the iconic Hobbiton Movie Set, one of New Zealand’s ‘must-see’ destinations. Join a shared tour and see where the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies were filmed as your tour guide shares behind-the-scenes tales. After exploring Hobbiton, tuck into a delicious buffet lunch served in the Party Marquee before continuing on to Rotorua.

Step into the enchanting village of Hobbiton Movie Set where your guide will take you on a two-hour tour around the set, showing the intricate detailing, pointing out the most famous locations and explaining how the movie magic was made. View Hobbit Holes, the Mill and Green Dragon Inn where you will be presented with a complimentary beverage to conclude your own Middle-earth adventure. Located at The Shires Rest, 15 minutes from Matamata township.

Day 3

DAY 3: ROTORUA

Rotorua is surrounded by a fascinating geothermal landscape with its unique steam vents, spouting geysers and bubbling mud pool set alongside freshwater lakes and majestic native forests. It is also a region immersed in fascinating Maori myths and legends. Enjoy a half day tour this morning exploring all the highlights of Rotorua with your private driver guide. This afternoon you will be transported to Te Puia for a guided tour through the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, the Kiwi Conservation Centre and the geothermal valley.  Then enjoy a Hangi Dinner overlooking the valley and geyser, followed by a 40-minute cultural performance. The evening culminates with hot chocolate and pudding on the geyser terrace.  Duration: 4.5 hours.  Overnight: Rotorua.OPTIONAL ACTIVITIESRotorua Highlights Tour: Visit the highlights of Rotorua starting with the Rotorua Lakefront and Sulphur Point. Day 5

DAY 5: QUEENSTOWN – MILFORD SOUND – QUEENSTOWN (L)

Fiordland is one of the world’s last great wildernesses. Today's privately guided tour takes you past mirror lakes and waterfalls into Milford Sound, carved by ice age glaciers and famously described as the eighth wonder of the world. On arrival, board your vessel for a shared cruise of the fiord surrounded by towering mountains and cliffs that plunge into the sea.  Feel the refreshing spray of a waterfall as you cruise close to sheer rock faces before returning to shore.  After a big day out, reflect on memories of a lifetime on your coach return to downtown Queenstown. Hot buffet lunch is included.  Overnight: Queenstown.

Day 6

DAY 6: QUEENSTOWN – MT COOK/TEKAPO – CHRISTCHURCH

Depart Queenstown with your driver guide passing through the stunning Kawarau Gorge, fruit and wine growing region of Cromwell, following beautiful Lake Dunstan and through the dramatic Lindis Pass. Travel alongside magnificent turquoise blue lakes and the spectacular Southern Alps to Mt Cook Village.  Visit Lake Tekapo, home to the popular Church of the Good Shepherd, before continuing through the amazing countryside to Christchurch. Overnight: Christchurch.OPTIONAL ACTIVITY(1) Christchurch Tram Dinner (Christchurch & South Canterbury): The Tramway Restaurant offers you a unique way to experience Christchurch. Dine in style in an air-conditioned vintage tram and be treated to fine service, cuisine and beverages. Incorporate some fabulous dining with the central city sights of Christchurch’s passing right by your window. The Tramway Restaurant offers a great experience of inner-city vibrancy and heritage ideal for celebrating special occasions, romantic date nights or simply to see Christchurch from a different perspective.

DAY 7: (DEPARTURE) CHRISTCHURCH
